Mrugavani National Park: One of the most beautiful parks in India

Mrugavani National Park, is one of the most beautiful parks in India and a protected area for the betterment of wildlife and biodiversity. The park is located 25 kilometers from Hyderabad, covers about 3.60 Km2 and is home to more than 600 species of plants and animals. The park was officially recognized in 1994 and since then it has turned from just an ordinary animal sanctuary to a major tourist attraction.

A place of immense beauty
The park is like no other in India due to its abundance of immense natural resources and exotic beauty. The topography of the land consists of several rocky outcrops in keeping with the Deccan formation.  The pleasant tropical climate supports woodlands, grasslands and forests.

Fauna
Here you will encounter a wide variety of wild animals such as foxes, cheetahs, black-naped hares and flower peckers. You will interact with wild boars, mongoose, civet cats, monitor lizards and pythons.

Flora
Apart from the fauna, visitors to the park get a chance to see many unique plant species. Plants in the park include:

Herbs

Climbers

Pteridophytes

Bryophytes

The park has a unique viewing where visitors climb a watch tower which gives them a bird’s eye view of the entire park. From there, you can watch various animals in their natural habitat. Alternatively, if you love nature, the park has the perfect package for as you can take nature walks with guides or go for safari rides if you do not mind getting up close and personal with the denizens of the park.

For visitors who love to know more about nature, Mrugavani National Park is the perfect place. The park boasts of a library and education center where you can learn about Mother Nature. The center also hosts a museum and auditorium which exhibits wildlife.

Unfortunately, just like in most parks in India and around the world, human activities and civilization have been constantly threatened the existence of the park. To save the flora and fauna in the sanctuary, the government and other relevant agencies have been forced to take measures to ensure that the precious resources in the park remain undisturbed in their natural habitat.
